Transhumanism as a tool of the patriarchy June 28, 2010

That’s what some men’s rights activists are angling for. Combined with the male-supremacist Futurist piece that Valkyrie Ice let me know about, it’s enough to make me worried. For transhumanism to have any hope of effecting positive change, it’s got to be pro-feminist. We’re talking about a global human rights crisis here, folks.

Of course women/feminists use transhumanism as a tool of the matriarchy.

2. Summerspeaker - June 29, 2010

What matriarchy? No known female parallel to male supremacy exists. It’s a purely reactionary notion.

3. LW - July 1, 2010

In that male supremacy is a work of fiction, you’re right. We have have entire libraries of feminist hate speech demonising half the entire human race based on the actions of less than a single percent, entire sections of the goverment devoted to destroying the lives of our brothers and fathers just so we can feel big and clever and a mass media devoted to spewing out hateful lies and an education system tailored by misandristic women to attack our sons. And through all this hate men have only loved and supported us.

There is no female parallel to male supreamcy because male supremancy is fiction, female supremacy is fact.

4. Summerspeaker - July 1, 2010

That sounds like an interesting world you’re living in, but it’s not the one I’m familiar with. As I wrote over on the site in question, the global human rights crisis I refer to includes myriad horrors such as human trafficking in the pay-for-rape sex industry, rape culture in general, compulsory pregnancy, denial of reproductive rights, and the ubiquitous devaluation of women’s work. Feminism asserts that it’s all connected. I experience elements of this system daily, if only in the form of sexist jokes/behavior and objectifying advertisements.

Women definitely have it much better than men in the West today. That so few women admit this shows how poor their character is.

Dr. Helen says that the more a woman screams about wanting feminism, the more she is angling to be a moocher/golddigger off of men.

‘Rape’ is a phony figment of misandric imagination, since the only people screaming about the prevalance of ‘rape’ are ugly women. Beautiful women (i.e. those more likely to be raped) are never the ones obsessing over the notion of ‘rape’.

The bogus ‘rape’ industry = a way for uggos to have power.

For transhumanism to have any hope of effecting positive change, it’s got to be pro-feminist.

Since women produce exactly 0% of all technological innovations, how can transhumanism be feminist? It can’t.

How many leading AI researchers are women? How many futurists?

7. Tony - July 1, 2010

and the ubiquitous devaluation of women’s work.

Actually, the work of women is overvalued.

Women are paid more than men in the workplace, relative to output produced. This is a very obvious fact to anyone who has ever worked in the private sector.

Women are paid 77% of what men are paid, for doing just 50% of the work. That is a pretty good deal for women.

8. Tony - July 1, 2010

LW,

Are you a woman? If so, I applaud you, and encourage you to keep speaking the truth. You have a huge role to play, as a woman who is fair about the prevalance of misandry (which is vastly more common than misogyny) has disproportionate power in halting this hateful ideology.

9. Craig - July 1, 2010

No LW LIVES in the Real World.

You Summerspeaker are the show “The Real World”. Feminisms exaggerations shall lead to it’s fall. A spectacular one at that. When Feminist such as yourself, stop blocking mens attempts to win any custody of their children instead of the overwhelming Mother Sole Custody that exist now (87perc) perhaps others will be more tolerant and less jovial of your lush victim fantasy realm.

A feminist claiming that women are in any way oppressed relative to men in the West, is becoming almost identical to Kim Jong Il’s propaganda machine telling North Koreans that they have it better than South Koreans.

Women are in fact oppressed in many other parts of the world, yet feminists are quite silent about this.

11. Jennifer - July 1, 2010

I see that you deleted Tony’s comments, which were not vulgar at all, but quite factual.

No wonder you and Valkyrie Ice cannot see your own projection.

12. Summerspeaker - July 2, 2010

Dr. Helen says that the more a woman screams about wanting feminism, the more she is angling to be a moocher/golddigger off of men.

Simple interaction with real live feminists disproves this absurd notion.

‘Rape’ is a phony figment of misandric imagination, since the only people screaming about the prevalance of ‘rape’ are ugly women. Beautiful women (i.e. those more likely to be raped) are never the ones obsessing over the notion of ‘rape’.

You might as well be denying the Holocaust. It’s profoundly immoral and offensive to dismiss such a widespread atrocity. The patriarchy exists and rape culture forms a critical component. You worsen matters by adding misogynistic objectification to the mix. Beauty and ugliness are both socially defined and essentially oppressive.

Since women produce exactly 0% of all technological innovations, how can transhumanism be feminist?

You employ not only laughable figures but a bizarre definition of transhumanism.

Women are paid more than men in the workplace, relative to output produced.

Even if this were true, which it isn’t, that ignores the vast amounts of unpaid labor women perform.

I see that you deleted Tony’s comments, which were not vulgar at all, but quite factual.

I did no such thing, though I probably should have.

13. Jennifer - July 2, 2010

Simple interaction with real live feminists disproves this absurd notion.

Nope. It confirms it. Dr. Helen is a real woman who knows that women are treated much better than men.

that ignores the vast amounts of unpaid labor women perform.

Men perform even more such ‘unpaid’ labor.

14. Valkyrie Ice - July 2, 2010

@Jennifer

My projection is that no gender discrimination OF ANY SORT occur. Period. I am as opposed to Radical Feminism as I am Radical Male Supremacy.

When true gender equality becomes reality, and no gender is favored or repressed, then I’ll have nothing more to say, but until then, I simply call it as I see it.

Doesn’t matter WHO is being prejudiced. Gender stereotyping and forcing of gender roles is WRONG.

So calling me ANYTHING but a advocate of ABSOLUTE GENDER NEUTRALITY is not MY projection at all. Perhaps you should recheck the definition of psychological projection.

15. Summerspeaker - July 2, 2010

Men perform even more such ‘unpaid’ labor.

The evidence suggests otherwise.

I am as opposed to Radical Feminism as I am Radical Male Supremacy.

That’s akin to being as opposed to black liberation as to white supremacy. You won’t find equality between such propositions. Radical feminism has nothing to do with female supremacy.

16. Valkyrie Ice - July 3, 2010

Depends on who is defining it, Summer. I’ve encountered far too many women who want “to crush men beneath our heel” claiming to be “Radical Feminists”

I am aware it is a natural tendency of the oppressed to seek dominion over their oppressors, for the slave to desire to become the slave master, but all that does is repeat the cycles endlessly.

I support NEUTRALITY. The utter removal of gender as a consideration for anything but personal sex partner preference. That often makes me a target from all sides, since everyone always wants to “WIN” for their side, and I seek balance.

So if you don’t define “Radical Feminism” as “ENSLAVE MEN LIKE THEY ENSLAVED US” then wonderful. I am all for EQUALITY and NEUTRALITY. but I am not for exceeding those exactly centered conditions for ANY side.

“the guy in the middle of the road usually gets run over” Cie la Vie.

I’ve encountered far too many women who want “to crush men beneath our heel” claiming to be “Radical Feminists”

I’ve yet to encounter such a thing.

The utter removal of gender as a consideration for anything but personal sex partner preference.

Radical feminist such as Firestone seek the same, though perhaps without the caveat.

18. Jennifer - July 4, 2010

I’ve yet to encounter such a thing.

Then you deliberately blindfold yourself every day. It DOES exist. Even Valkyrie Ice correctly says so.

You are an extremist, summerspeaker.

And yes, men do a lot more ‘unpaid labor’ than women. Bogus ‘studies’ from dubious, biased sources does not change this. It is called ‘life’.
