Aaron Swartz facing 35 years on data theft charge July 19, 2011

They say Swartz “stole” over four million documents from MIT and JSTOR. I’m a little annoyed that ey apparently hasn’t distributed the documents in question and that the heist crashed JSTOR servers. As a graduate student, I need that site to work or some alternative. Regardless, this case highlights the absurdity of turning digital abundance into artificial scarcity at the point of a gun. Good luck, Aaron!

I probably should have trashed this comment. I can’t see any good coming from it.
