Welcome to the Future January 2, 2014

Posted by Summerspeaker in Despair.

Happy 2014 to those of y’all who believe in such things! Expect flying cars and jetpacks. I hope to devote more time to this blog and related endeavors in the coming months – but my hopes often go unrealized. Lately I’ve been focusing on school, personal matters, and distraction, not necessarily in that order. I desperately need to find some more income, but I’m no good with this economic system.

It could be a matter of where you live. Here in houston we are outpouring with jobs, where do you live?

Happy New Year! Have you looked into crowdfunding and microgigs? I hear ya . .

Summerspeaker - January 5, 2014

I’m roughly familiar with crowdfunding but don’t know anything about microgigs beyond the meanings of “micro” and “gigs.”

Fiverr.com is the most popular site for microgigs. The basic idea is you charge $5 to do something (write a brief article, edit some pages, do a quick voice over, take some photos, or whatever) and your keep 4 of the 5. Fiverr gets the $1 for hosting. I’ve done a few gigs. It’s not a steady income for most of the people who sign up, but it’s an alternative to a typical job.
